Soil particle size analysis
LAND GRANULOMETRIC ANALYSIS
By purchasing this auction, you acquire a package that provides a granulometric analysis of the soil. The analysis will be carried out by an authorized and certified laboratory with which Geosism & Nature collaborates.
This analysis proves fundamental in order to verify the suitability of the land for agronomic use for the culture of tree species thanks to the determination of the elements contained in it.
The package provides for the determination of:
? granulometric analysis for wet sieving, including determination of the fine content, according to the CNR BU no. 23, ASTM Methods, Collection AGI / 9;
? granulometric analysis for sedimentation with densimeter (particles <75 microns), according to ASTM D 422-63 standard;
? particle size classification, according to AGI 1994.
This analysis can be applied to any type of terrain.
In order for the analysis to give optimal results, it is advisable to eliminate the upper plant layer and to take the sample at a suitable depth within which the rooting of the species to be implanted will occur. Our laboratories need at least 2 kg of soil. Geosism & Nature is not responsible for taking the sample which must therefore be carried out by the customer in a workmanlike manner and will not provide the container for the collection.
To contain sufficient sample a plastic bag as long as it has never been used to contain any other material. The bag must be properly sealed and possibly closed in an additional second bag.
In order for this withdrawal to be carried out in a workmanlike manner, it is necessary to follow these good rules:
? never mix soil samples taken at different depths;
? possible (recommended) to mix samples taken at different points but always at the same depth as long as the samples appear similar; this operation is definitively quarted (if the doubt persists, it is advisable to take a sample for each survey point);
? if you want to know the grain size of the soil at different depths, you need to take 1 different sample for each level you want to investigate;
? the tool used to carry out the excavation must have been as clean as possible and therefore not contaminated by oils (easily found if mechanical means are used) or by other chemical substances;
? photograph the hole made using a tape measure in the background that allows you to identify the depth of removal.
In the cost of the package including the granulometric analysis of the soil as specified above (not including a technical comment from a specialized operator, which in case of interest can be quoted separately), the collection by our courier of the sample at the location you will indicate to us (for this reason, you must provide us with a valid address where a person will be available for the entire day chosen by you, if the courier passes and no one is present you will be charged the cost of the second step for the collection equal to 10 euros or you must send us the sample) and return the analysis with a printout of a certified and certified laboratory by e-mail in pdf.
Once the sample has been taken, it will be very important to pack it inside a carton surrounding it with bubble wrap or newspapers, Geosism & Nature is not responsible for any breakage of the sample during transport (in case of such an event, the client will have to provide take the sample again and send it to our company at its expense).
The timing for the return of data according to the laboratory timing that can go from 15 to 30 days depending on the tests that will be performed.
