TUFF 0/2 mm (1 Kg - approx. 1 lt).
Neapolitan yellow tuff a pyroclastic rock characterized by a prevalence of ashes of various grain sizes, with inclusions of pumice and lava fragments, resulting from explosive eruptions of different volcanic centers, which occurred in the caldera of the Campi Flegrei between 12,000 and 10,000 years ago . It is straw-yellow in color, scalable with the nail and with typical characteristics of a good building stone, furthermore, being mainly made up of aluminum, potassium, calcium and magnesium oxides, it does not undergo chemical oxidation or hydration processes .
The physical and mechanical characteristics are highly variable from place to place and also in the same locality. Trade name Neapolitan yellow tuff for load-bearing walls
Geological classification Vulcanoclastite connected to an eruptive episode that occurred in the Phlegrean Fields about 12,000 years from the present, consisting of pumice and fragments of obsidian, lithic and crystals immersed in a deeply altered cineritic matrix with the formation of zeolites and subordinately clayey materials.
